Timber to masonry joist hangers are designed to support timber joists, beams and trussed rafters from masonry walls, with a minimum crushing strength of 3.5N/mm. Masonry joist hangers are usually welded for strength. They are designed to be placed either on top of a wall, or wrapped around the wall or fixed into a joint in the wall. The return adds additional lateral support by wrapping around the back of the masonry.There are two main types of masonry hangers; Timber to Masonry hanger and Timber to Masonry Return hanger.
Timber to Masonry Joist Hangers
Lock Plate
An additional element to use with the Single Piece Joist Hanger and the Welded Masonry Joist Hanger (above). This plate is easily be transformed into a hook over joist hanger. No special tools or rivets are required. Just insert Lock Plate at 90, rotate and tap into place.

Timber to Masonry Return Joist Hangers
The Masonry Return Joist Hangers are designed for similar applications and installation as the standard Masonry Joist Hangers. The return adds additional lateral support by wrapping around the back of the masonry or timber. They have a 25mm drop on the return flange as standard.
Welded masonry return joist hanger
The welded masonry return joist hanger has 100mm return and 25mm drop as standard. They are made from 2.4mm thick pre-galvanised steel EN 10346 DX51D Z275. Also available in stainless steel.

Masonry joist hanger with back plate
This hanger has a removable return. This return come in five standard sizes, 100mm, 115mm, 140mm, 150mm and 215mm. The drop is 25mm.
