Galvanised Heavy Duty Restraint Strap 3000mm Flat

Galvanised Heavy Duty Restraint Strap 3000mm Flat is designed for lateral and horizontal restraint (as in roof trusses). The straps are produced from edge coated galvanised mild steel, also available in stainless steel. They are designed for 6mm and 25mm offset centres holes.

INSTALLATION

For galvanised straps use min 7 no. 3.75 x 30 square twist nails or equivalent fixed to timber joists / rafters.

SPECIFICATION

The straps are manufactured in accordance with the BS 5268 Part 3 of the Building Regulations.

Please note: 1-3 metre lengths come from a coil rather than a solid rigid bar. The physical characteristics of the metal mean that after a certain length they can bend rather than being flat rigid. It is not a question of any fault but rather the ‘nature of the beast’. The phrase: “straps are flat” is not misleading! It means they are not bent or twisted; at no point is there any claim that they are straight and true. Strap material is edge-coat galvanised which is required by the standard. This process, and the fact that the material is a coil does cause deflection, and the longer the length the more it is apparent.
